Nancy Guzha
Director, DEEZED Distribution
My Role
I am co-founder of Deezed Distribution and one of the directors in the business. Being a small company, and having lost my co-founder after a stroke, the buck stops with me on almost all of the company’s strategic and major operational decisions. Currently, my main role is fundraising as I believe that is our biggest hurdle to achieving the company’s potential.
Company Overview
Women owned and led. Agribusiness. We are involved in horticulture for local and national sport markets with all our certifications in place. Our main export crops are mangetout and sugar snap peas, and we are desirous of expanding that to include blueberries and other crops with a ready market. For the local market, we grow onions, fine beans, tomatoes, butternut, maize and potatoes. This year (2024), we are entering dairy farming and have already secured and offtake agreement with one of Zimbabwe’s largest offtakets. Within our rural community, we have partnered with small women farmers, the local school and church to be outgrowers for our market so as to empower our community collectively. We intend to use the manure from our dairy project to generate biogas and migrate our farm to mainly organic. Our strengths are access to markets, strong Human Resources with a great attitude, access to land (over 500ha) with good water supply. Our major challenge is access to finance to improve our irrigation infrastructure, cold chain and scale the business. Entering dairy will improve our cashflows. We see ourselves as a big business, just that we are at the beginning of the journey.
